Dying my hair dark from my natural medium blonde colour how bad will the roots look when it grows out?

I am considering dying my hair for the first time. I am 21 and am going to donate my hair to locks of love for the third time then after want to do something different with my hair. I have medium blonde hair and I am unsure of how this will look. I want to go to a darker chocolate colour. How will it look when it grows out, will it fade or will my roots be severly noticable?

It will probaly wash out fast. Sometimes color will wash out after just a few washes. Maybe you sould just try getting lowlights instead of dying it all dark.
Reply:for me don't do it cause if u go to dark hair at the first time u'll look bad.......but if u wanna do it than u just do it gradually darker and darker..........after u do this u can say goodbye u're natural hair color..........or u can go bold like Britney and wait 4 them 2 grow up:P
Reply:Blonde roots through dark hair look worse than dark roots in blonde hair, it's one of those very peculiar looking things. Don't forget to dye your hair red before you dye it chocolate to avoid any green melanin-lacking disasters.
Reply:It will not look good for sure when it starts to grow out. Why not just get dark low-lites instead of dying the whole thing. It will look nice and it's less noticeable when it starts to grow.
Reply:The roots will be noticeable. Just think about it...you are dying the hair that you have now, JUST that hair, not the hair that you have yet to grow.
