Can I use eco-complete mixed with medium sized gravel in a planted tank?

I want to start a planted tank out of my FISH tank. I have 1inch of medium gravel and was wondering if i could just mix some eco-complete in and still have good plant growth

Can I use eco-complete mixed with medium sized gravel in a planted tank?
If you mean mixed them together you can, but the Eco-Complete might settled down below the gravel. However, you can laydown eco-complete with a layer of gravel on top. This is what I've done with my fluorite.

Since it seems you already have your tank started, replace the gravel wih Eco-Complete a portion at a time, maybe 10-15% so as not to disrupt the bacteria establishment. Just move the gravel over to the side on top of the other gravel or place in a bucket with water from the aquarium, laydown Eco-complete and replace the gravel.

Also, Eco-complete can be used alone. However, again, only change the gravel and Eco-complete a portion at a time but this time over several days to allow the bacteria to establish itself on the Eco-complete. Some plants can allow you to replace the gravel completely as they can takeover the waste load, but it's better to be safe.

When you plant, make sure the roots are in the Eco-Complete layer.
