How do you properly label a drawing according to the medium used?

I have to make a portfolio for school. I'm using a scanned image of a drawing I have. It's basically ALL in pencil. I need to have a description with it, which will be the title, and preferably my medium of choice. but putting 'pencil' doesn't seem professional. Would writing 'lead' instead be better?

Any ideas?

How do you know whether you are a small or medium in Abercrombie and Fitch clothing?

I'm going to buy A%26amp;F's Lexie bomber jacket, and I don't know whether to get a small or a medium. The jacket looks pretty small either way, but I'm getting it from online so I don't know which would fit me. I usually wear a small in any brand, but i don't know about this. I'm kinda tall and skinny. Suggestions?

How do you know whether you are a small or medium in Abercrombie and Fitch clothing?
Here are the official sizes for A%26amp;F clothes: petite, small, medium, large, x-large, xx-large, xxx-large, damn! %26amp; circus tent!

Get a Medium!
Reply:well i think u should get he medium casue if its too big u can either keep it fro along time or u can shrink it in the washer
Reply:i would stick with a small -- i upsize jackets sometimes if you are layering with them -- like if a jacket is going on the outside of you in a sweatshirt and hoodie you might want a medium.
Reply:wat do u usually get for hoodies from af when u go shoppping?
Reply:Get a medium. Plus if it is a bit too big, you can grow into it and it will last longer. ♥
Reply:Well, what I would do is see if the have a measurment guide. I f they do check out the measurments and compare yours with theirs.
Reply:Look at the size chart, and if it doesn't fit you can always return it.
Reply:get a medium and if it doesnt fit send it back for a small!
Reply:meediummm . etter to be bigger, than smaller. plus more material used for the same price !
Reply:there's a size chart when u open the jacket link
Reply:Go to the store, and try it on and then order which one fits.

Or if your a large at abercrombie, your a small at A %26amp; F.

Or get the small and if it doesnt fit return it for a medium, or vise versa.
Reply:try on stuff those sizes. yay 2points!

Reply:Abercrombie runs small. the biggest difference between sm. and med. is the sleeve length, so if you are tall get the medium.

What breed of medium-size dog would you recommend?

I am looking for a new doggy, but he can't be too big, and I'm not keen on toy size - so medium size, sort of Cocker Spaniel size. Would appreciate any thoughts on nice breeds to consider.

What breed of medium-size dog would you recommend?
BIchon-- don't shed and don't bite but require grooming

Beagle-- don't bite, but love to run and roam

Don't get a cocker, they are nippy and shed

Bassetts are sweet, but drool and have back issues

Doxies love their owners, but are rather "difficult" at times and stubborn

There are lots of great medium breeds and mixes. Your options are wide open in this size range.
Reply:it depends on how much space and time you have for this dog... what are you living arrangements?? apartment? house with fenced in yard.. etc etc etc

Your best bet is to go to your local shelter and find a wonderful "MUTT" they are the best!! smile... tell the people at the shelter what YOU have to offer this new family member then tell them what you expect to get out of this new relationship... smile GOOD LUCK!!!!!

plus you will be saving a life!!!! Here is a great website info that might help you out:(an a couple more..)

So you'd like to get a dog, but you're not sure what kind. Purebred? Mutt? There are certain advantages to owning a mixed-breed dog, believe it or not.

1. Mixed-breeds are often healthier. With purebreds, there are certain health problems that are particular to the breed. Mixed-breeds may develop those health problems, but they may escape them thanks to their mixed heritage. Some purebreds have health problems simply due to certain exaggerated breed traits -- like short faced dogs with bulging eyes tend to have eyes pop out! A mixed breed may be less likely to experience something like that.

2. Mixed-breeds can live longer than purebreds. A healthier dog can live longer than a dog that is predisposed to major health issues. Genetic issues that are caused by recessive genes may not show up in a cross-breed thanks to other dominant genes from the parents.

3. Mixed-breeds often have the best qualities of each parent breed. Look at the popularity of "labradoodles" -- the personality of a Labrador and the low-shed coat of a Poodle.

4. A shelter pet will cost less than a purebred pet. Purebred puppies can cost several hundred dollars from a reputable breeder! A shelter pet may come with an adoption fee of a hundred dollars -- AND a coupon for a free neutering.

5. A shelter pet often knows that you saved them, and will be all the more loving and loyal -- and rewarding for you!

Reply:A medium sized rescued mutt!!! Save a life!!!
Reply:To dogs that I would consider with good personalities are a pug or a boston terrior. Pugs are really mellow and sweet. Boston terriors like to bark a lot and can some times, not often, have an attitude!! :)
Reply:Poodles, dont shed hair and are very intelligent.. t
Reply:I'm with Catherine. If you have the time for grooming, Schnauzers are the road to go! They are a smart and beautiful breed, with sub-groups ranging greatly in size. Miniature/standard Schnauzers are great smaller dogs, and the 'giant' Schnauzer is a good medium-large breed.
Reply:do not get ahusky, they need ALOT of exercise or they will destroy your house. I have owned huskies for a very long time and i hate to hear about people who get rid of their husky because they though it was cute but could not train them. I currently have a cocker spaniel puppy and she is the sweetest thing. I would go for that if you have time for their grooming needs.
Reply:i have had two minature long haired dauschund and they have both been big minatures and they are the most beautiful natured dog. so so good with all aged people. a good guard dog and so loving. my dog just died this year after 10 years. extremely devastating. he was part of the family.
Reply:It depends on what you are looking for.

Beagles are nice family pets--but they can bark a lot and have high energy. They don't need a lot of grooming, though.

Medium-sized poodles are very smart--but have grooming needs.

Shnauzers, West Highland White Terriers have high grooming needs but are friendly dogs.

English Springer Spaniels are fabulous pets, but again, they are high energy, and require specialized grooming.
Reply:Well first of all, you have to look for a dog thats great with kids, even if you don't have any but I mean if kids come to your house and stuff. Then you need to know if he is a good listener so he can be trained easily or learn fast if he is doing something wrong, and of course you need a good looking dog, the only one that I can think of off the bat is a siberian husky you know those snow dogs but they are a little bit over medium size so if they don't fit the bill how about asking pet stores about the tips I just gave they will know what is a good type :)
Reply:How about a Basset hound, a beagle, or a miniature poodle? These are all great dogs! Research online some at the AKC website, www.akc.org.
Reply:Miniature Pincshers are cute, and they come in black OR brown.

And schuanczers are very cute.(sry, don't know if i spelled that right!), and they come in large, medium, and small. :)

Good Luck!
Reply:Either Cavalier Kings Charles or Beagle.
Reply:Welsh Corgi's are wonderful smaller dogs. They are extremely intelligent and very lovable. I would recommend having them shaved in the summer time though, their fur will get everywhere.
Reply:if you dont mind hair in the summer, then i would suggest a collie, then again if your not into the lassy type the go for a duchound (weinner dog),then agin if none of these work try asking a pet store,or a kennel about it.
Reply:Cockers are nice but tend to be hyper active. I would go with a cockapoo. They are non shedding, have hair rather than fur so no alergies. They are loyal and smart, I cannot say enough good about them.
Reply:Let me preface this by saying that I work in a dog park/kennel so I deal with a ton of dogs every day.

First off, there is no perfect breed. You will always get to the point where you have to say, "I want this therefore I will have to deal with that." IE: Beagle; cute, cuddly, great family dog, but will bark and howl like the six o'clock siren if it sees a little critter in the yard. Especially a rabbit.

Some breeds to look into would be: Whippet, Basenji, Beddlington Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Bulldog (Always have to clean it's eyes), Shiba Inu, Corgis, Australian Cattle Dog (They're awesome), Border Collies (Amazingly smart and love to play flyball), Brittany Spaniel.

These are just a few of the breeds that come through the kennel that I think would make a great family dog and would be a little on the smaller side of the medium sized breeds.

Check out the AKC to find out more about these breeds. It would also be a great idea to go to a shelter and find a medium sized dog there that has been abandoned and provide it a great home. Some of the best dogs I've ever met have been Heinz 57 dogs.

Good luck in your search.
Reply:How about you adopt.
Reply:i swear by golden retrievers, loving, playful and GREAT with kids, Border Collie's are extremly smart and will give you alot of love, but need a bit more attention

How can I transfer movie/pictures from the DVDCassette to other permanent storage medium?
The only way I can do it is to grab the files to my computer. You obvioulsy have to have a dvd-rom on your pc. The load the dvd and got to my computer. Right click on the dvd-rom drive and select "open". The actual movie files are have the .vob extension. Then you can combine them onto one disc with a compliation program like Nero. Thats what I do, I bought rewritable, put them on pc and them burn them onto a full size disc.
Reply:DVD Cassette? Never heard of that...

Does your camera have any outputs besides video? like USB or IEEE1394? If so, connect that to the PC and then upload your video to the PC. Then you can burn the video from the PC to a CD-ROM or a DVD-R or whatever.

How would I crochet a sturdy bag for my medium weight books and papers?

The bag should be sturdy and able to support 3-4 medium weighted books. I did see one but the inside was some sort of heavy plastic and the outside was crocheted.

How would I crochet a sturdy bag for my medium weight books and papers?
Felting can be pretty strong. If you find a pattern for a felted bag you could try that. If you have a local yarn store (not like a Michaels or major craft store, but a local yarn store), you could drop by there and ask them if felted or crocheted bags are strong enough to be used like a briefcase. They are usually really experienced.

Good luck!
Reply:Aside from putting a liner in it...hmm. If I was doing this with knitting, I'd use wool yarn and felt it, but I think crochet is a bit stronger. Still, there's that option.
Reply:use string instead of yarn. i think its called "kitchen string" the kind that you tie up roasts ect with. it comes in white only but you can dye it any color/colors you want. its very sturdy so that should work ok.
Reply:Going along with the butcher's twine idea, you could buy nylon cord at your local hardware store and crochet the bag out of that; that would make a bag that's really strong and easy to clean.
Reply:A felted bag would be perfect! Just make a wide-strapped bag about 1.3 - 1.4 times the size you want it (in crochet) out of a 100% wool yarn and felt it - sew it together, if needed, throw it in a pillowcase pinned shut, and put it with a few pairs of jeans and detergent in a washing machine on "hot" and let the agitation cycle run. It may take several cycles but stop when the stitch definition gets very soft.

Good luck!

When a recipe says" cook", does that mean on medium heat?

I'm making Dulce de Leche for the first time and I really want it to come out good. I need to cook the milk but I don't know if it needs to be on medium or hi heat! Keep in mind that this is in a heat proof bowl over water.

When a recipe says" cook", does that mean on medium heat?
you should start out on medium heat first. If it doesn't cook fast enough turn it up a little at a time.
Reply:Have the heat between med and high, if it starts to boil rapidly then turn it down a little.

good luck with it
Reply:mostlikely medium
Reply:Go medium - milk souldn't be boiled. Heat it til there are some bubbles, but not furiously boiling, or you'll scold it.
Reply:Medium heat.... high heat will burn the milk..and give it a flat taste

Is there a difference between a regular and a medium tree on a saddle?

I'm looking to buy a saddle on ebay and need a saddle with a regular tree. Most saddles say they have medium trees and I was wondering if there was a difference between the 2.

Is there a difference between a regular and a medium tree on a saddle?
Yes a regular tree and a medimum tree are almost the same. Not much of a difference. I run barrels in both types of saddles. They both work for me.
Reply:a medium is a little wider
Reply:medium tree is a little wider but i think it would be hard to ride with a tree on the horse's back? lol just kidding.
Reply:There is a difference in size, but until you kow for sure whzt that is, I wouldnt buy a saddle. Unless you buy a Wintec with an adjustable tree that also comes with the tree kit. That is the best way to go to see what best fits your horse. Plus Wintec adjust itself as the horses body fluctuates. The memory panels in the thing are incredible. Plus, they are not too expensive for a saddle, they clean easy, look good, aare comfortable, and last forever. I highly highly highly suggest this saddle, especially if you are new to purchasing saddles.
Reply:A medium tree is a little wider than a regular tree
Reply:yes there is. small trees are for skinny horses. large trees are for horses that are stocky or heavy and maybe have broad backs. you dont want to put a small saddle on a broad backed horse.

A youth medium may be a bit tight on her chest, so maybe go with a youth large unless girl's medium shirts are a bit loose on her.

What kind of dog should I get that is Medium?
we have a sheltie (shetland sheep dog) and she does not shed very much because we keep her groomed and cut shorter than usual. She is very good with children and our kids love her very much. when the kids get out of hand she herds them into the bathroom. kinda funny huh?

Hope these help, Good Luck
Reply:you missed one thing - which is the MOST important thing to consider -

intelligence level of the breed... (energy level) smart dogs need LOTS of mental stimulation.. without it they become bored and destroy your home.. these dogs include Border Collies, Dalmations, and Jack Russell Terriers... you should NOT get an intelligent breed if you dont have ALOT of time to devote to keeping the dog mentally busy

the main dogs that are good with kids are the "soft mouthed breeds" = Retreivers.. bred to wait then softly retrieve a duck.. they are patient and gentle... but they do shed...

non-shedding dogs require frequent trips to the groomers for hair cuts PLUS they still need daily brushing so their coat doesnt become a painful tangled matt... the shedding dogs also require the brushing.. but in the long run are less work

Terriers = terrors.. are NOT good with little kids - these dogs were bred to hunt and kill and can be very active and very mouth agressive (biters)

Cockers are NOT good with kids dispite what Disney shows you have watched...

Shih Tzu - smaller - very good low intelligence house dogs

the BEST DOG - a mutt.. a cross bred dog rescued from the SPCA or humane society that has been around kids before...

Puppies should NEVER be around young kids - too much work - too much jumping - nipping... lots of problems...

NEVER NEVER from a pet store - the pet store will LIE to you just to get a sale... they over charge for low quality pets and support a cruel industry (puppy mills)
Reply:get a pitbull puppy. They are great with the kids, do not shed to much and are really good animals. I have two of them.
Reply:I'm partial to Boston Terriers and Pit Bulls they are both great with kids and don't shed much.
Reply:A hot dog.
Reply:A doberman. They don't shed too much, they are pretty darn sweet also. I love dobermans, they are great.
Reply:a 13 or a 15 inch beagle
Reply:You should not just pick a dog based on what someone says but on what your lifestyle is like. What type of place do you live in? (Small apartment? House with a big yard?) Different breeds of dogs have different requirements. There are small dogs that are high energy and require a lot of attention and exercise. Based on that you should do your research. Do you want a dog with a laid back attitude? Do you want a dog that is good with kids? Do you want a dog that likes to play a lot? Also, be aware that pure breed dogs can sometimes have health issues (German Sheppard’s are known for having hip problems, Etc) so in a lot of ways a mutt is usually (not always) a healthier dog. Just make sure you are ready for the responsibility (walks, baths, giving medicine, CLEANING UP!) because it does take work. But I love dogs and the work was well worth it. Just remember to start training them early. Because they learn bad habits really easily and it’s hard to break them out of them as they get older. Sometimes what they do as puppies is cute but when they are adults… well, it’s no longer cute. Good luck.
Reply:Get a pomeranian. They are sweet and when they hear the door open the go strieght to the door. they greet you when you come home and the love to play but know when to stop. I have one my self and she does not cause me any trouble.

Hi. Does anyone know how many chiles to use to make chili if I like it medium spicy?

The recipe I am using includes hot chili seasoning, cumin , ground red pepper and pace hot picante sauce. I would like to know how many chillies(serrano and jalepeno) to put in the recipe if I like my chili medium spicy. Thanks.

Hi. Does anyone know how many chiles to use to make chili if I like it medium spicy?
I would use one jalepeno with seeds. Try that, If it's not enough you can always add more. It is better to add little by little because you can always add more to taste, but you can't take it away.
Reply:I never used jalapenos, maybe just one....all the other things are hot as it. Picante sauce has jalapenos in it already.

I used chili powder, cumin, paprika, onion power, garlic powder, tomato sauce, tomato Paste, and a little flour to thicken
Reply:well just keep adding 1 by 1 until your tastebuds are pleased
Reply:a shed load!
Reply:If you only want the spice---take the seeds out of the peppers--you'll have spice and flavor.I use just jalapenos----serranos have a kick.
Reply:Don't put in any!!! Taste it first and then add them one at a time tasting after each addition! You never know how hot they're going to be and you will have a heck of a time getting them back out!

What is the best bowling ball with a medium to high hook potential.?

Just asking other bowlers their preferences on different bowling balls they like to use, especially on medium to oily lane conditions.

What is the best bowling ball with a medium to high hook potential.?
My "arsenal" is as follows, and they are great on medium to oily conditions:

Brunswick Red Zone (drilled for max hook %26amp; backend)

Brunswick Red Zone (drilled for max distance before hooking)

Brunswick Ultimate Inferno

Brunswick Twisted Fury

Elite Black Label

Elite Gold Label

Elite PBA Chameleon

Columbia 300 Big Shot

Hammer Black Widow Bite

Hammer Black Widow Pearl

Since I bowl on various league and tournament lane surfaces, these bowling balls have helped me fight through oil by altering the surfaces to make them a bit more rougher or having my ball driller use exotic drillings to maximize their performance.

What are good measurements for 5' 9" female, medium built?

I have realized over the years that you really can not go by weight alone. A muscular person may weight more and look thinner in clothes. Muscle weights more than fat but takes up less room, I realize that much. To look healthy and not too thin what are the average measurements for females with a medium built frame that are approximately 5'9" tall? Such as: arms, chest, waist(at the smallest point) , hips (at the widest point) and thighs.

One other thing I am not talking about Hollywood standards LoL.

What are good measurements for 5' 9" female, medium built?
Yoiu can always get "ideal" measurements from your physician, publications, etc. What's important is your health. Food for thought if you are aiming for the looks: to be smart as a start is better than being beautiful. Looks are easier to achieve than intelligence.
Reply:the body mass index would be around 18.5 to 25

What is the influance of electric field in a dielectric medium?

An electric field passes through a dielectric medium....lets consider its intensity to be "Z". When this field passes through a dielectric medium what will be its intensity when it emerges out of the dielectric medium; just outside this medium?...in other words....what will be the intensity left when it move out of the medium on the other side?

Z/K?...where K is the dielectric constant

What is the influance of electric field in a dielectric medium?
If you are referring to static electric fields, the field does not "move" through the medium, but passes through it. Normally, the field outside the dielectric is not affected by the field inside, but if the field is set up externally to pass through both (by placing the dielectric between two plates at a potential difference), the field outside the dielectric will be K times the field inside the dielectric.

If the potential difference between two parallel plates is V, and their separation is d, the electric field between them is V/d. If you insert a dielectric of thickness r into this arrangement, the electric field in the dielectric Ed is (1/K) times the field outside Eo. The integral of field between the plates must equal the potential difference, so Ed*r + Eo*(d-r) = V. Since Ed = (1/K)*Eo, substitute and solve for Eo and Ed.

The result is Eo = V/[r*(1/K - 1) + d].

You will find that inserting the dielectric will increase the field outside from its value before the dielectric was inserted.

How much is one medium jalapeno chile?

I have a recipe that calls for "one medium jalapeno chile, stemmed, seeded and minced." But I could not find this ingredient at the grocery store. Instead, I bought a small can of "chopped green chiles." Granted, what I bought won't have the same "bite" as the jalapeno. But my question is how much should I use? The can is 4.5 ounces. How many ounces would make up "one medium jalapeno chile, stemmed, seeded and minced?"

How much is one medium jalapeno chile?
Next time you're at the supermarket, make sure to check the produce section. Jalapenos are widely available everywhere. You would find them where all the other peppers are. Of course, you would have to stem, seed and mince it yourself.

Another option is to buy jalapenos slices in a jar. You can find those where the pickles and roasted red peppers are in the market.

I would use at least 2 tablespoons. Green chilis are very mild.

Do all waves cause the particles of the medium they travel through to oscillate?

i know that when a wave travels through a medium, its particles oscillate. But as light can travel through a vacuum then i thought this might mean that they do not cause particles to oscillate... Is this the case?

Do all waves cause the particles of the medium they travel through to oscillate?
Correct. The only thing that oscillates in light is electric and magnetic fields.

What is the best brand/kind of bronzer to use for a Black woman of medium to dark skin tones?

I don't wear any makeup other than lip gloss, but I would like to use a bronzer because I saw a woman on tv talking about wearing it. I am a Black woman with a medium brown skin tone. Any suggestions would help.

What is the best brand/kind of bronzer to use for a Black woman of medium to dark skin tones?
Most of my friends with a medium to dark complexion really like Cover girl's Queen collection.
Reply:Ohhhh I love black women's complexion because you can do sooo much with it. I would use warm copper colors, because it will make your skin glow. But please please PLEASE stay away bright pinks and purples and blues. It'll ruin your look.
Reply:Personally, I like the MK Signature Bronzing Powder. It's a nice subtle bronze without being over done. Gives me a nice healthy natural glow.

What would be a good breed of medium size dog that would be good with new borns. i.e dog before a baby senario

My Wife-to-be and i are about to move into our new house. We're searching for a small - medium dog with short hair and minmal shedding. We don't have kids yet, but plan to in the next couple of years.

We both work during the day (9-5) and are concerning with not being able to spend enough time with the dog/puppy during the week.

What would be some good breeds of dogs that would do well in a new family setting.

What would be a good breed of medium size dog that would be good with new borns. i.e dog before a baby senario
I'd recommend an Aussie Shepherd mix.

I have a five month old Australian Shepherd mixed with a Great Pyrenees (strangely enough, he doesn't shed too much) and he loves children. I've never seen or heard of either of his breeds being aggressive towards children, and he's so wonderful with the kids in my household, my neighbors kids, and kids he meets in the park. He's medium sized too, weighs about 50 pounds right now, and our vet says thats probably as large as he'll get.

I'd say a big no-no to Beagles, Pugs, Pekingeses, Chihuahuas, or a Terrier. They get nippy at times. Yorkies have the tendency too, but they can be trained down, and it happens less and less with good breeding.
Reply:I have worked in the Vet business for 20+ years and the best low shedding breeds are !. Bichon Frise--low shed and non allergic---also depends on your housing--are you in the country or city??? If in country herding dogs are great with children, but need lots of area to run off energy, like cattle dogs. There are web sites where you can research pets with peoples personality, and if you will have children or not--MOST of all DO YOUR HOMEWORK--some breeds are very temperamental and don't do well with children--You will need to introduce your dog to the baby slowly--before had get the dog use to baby smells, like baby powder etc. I have cousins who have 3 Great Danes, and when they had there first child the dogs were about 3yrs. old and it all worked out really well, and the dogs are now SOOO protective of the baby---Good Luck
Reply:Numerous breeds are great with kids. Your work schedule will be the hard part. A puppy cant be left alone for suck a long stretch. Young puppies have to potty very often and the best of puppies wont be able to hold it from 9-5 until about a year old. Contact a few local rescues and see what they have. There are tons of great adult dogs that are already house trained and are great with kids. Since the dog is mature the rescue will be able to tell you how the dog does with kids, how much it sheds as well as its size when full grown! Its SO hard to know all of that with a puppy! You are doing a WONDERFUL job researching your choices and keeping in mind that you will want to have children. So many people get dogs that arent great with kids, keep them for a few years, have a baby and the poor dog has to go!
Reply:Your dog should be about 2 years before you have kids. Puppies are clumsy and can seriously hurt and infant by mistake. Also make sure that your dog is exposed to children as a puppy so hes not as curious or scared of them. There are alot of great medium sized dogs! Depending on what your looking for. Here are a couple links with quizes you can take that help decide which dog would be a good choice for you! Good luck :)

ADD:

I wouldnt suggest an aussie mix. I have one they are A LOT of work, they do shed, ususlly not then they are 5 months becuase they havent gotten their full coat, I thought mine wasnt going to shed either but 4 months later I dont own a piece of clothing without a dog hair! Also they tend not to be good with children becuase of their herding insticts, they can nip at the feet of the child and run directly in front of then tripping them and injuring them. They are a great dog but not one to have around children!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Golden retrievers are excellent dogs! they are great family dogs! They are really soft and kids would love to pet them, they are very loyal
Reply:THE SMARTEST THING YOU COULD DO IS TO TALK TO A VETERINARIAN OR THE SPCA.
Reply:i personally think poodle... the don't shed that much and are loyal, don't forget... they are small or medium
Reply:To be honest you could get the best natured, most highly recommended breed and it would end up a total nightmare - not 'cos of the baby but because it's been left in total isolation for 10 hours a day. No dog, of any age, should be expected to be alone all day - and you should also know that you'll spend the first hour of being home after work clearing up poo and pee and whatever destructive mischief the lonely, bored pooch has wreaked upon your house. It is simply unfair to get a dog when you are at work all day. Even as an adult it's unfair, but with a puppy it's madness - how will it learn anything? How will you housetrain it? When will you walk it? How will you give it it's lunch? Think how many times you go to the loo during 8 and 6, and then quadruple it for a puppy or young dog.... Please think again, get a puppy when your child is about a year old and there's someone at home all day.

Reply:i wouldnt recomend a small dog because some small dogs csan be more agressive towards children, not the dogs fault though. some are just afraid because children are sort of rough. really the best dog i could recomend would be a lab or golden retriever. these are large dogs but they can take what a small child can dish out. plus with a small dog the kids always want to pick it up and this sometimes hurts them. incase your child devlopes an alergy to them maybe you could get a poodle. i know nobody really likes this dog because they are "yappy" well thats all to do with training. they are a very smart breed no shedding and you can get them in three different sizes. tea cup mini and standard. the standard poodles are quite a large size. they can grow the size of a lab or larger. the mini's are still a small dog. a bit bigger than the average cat. a tea cup i would not recomend since they are so small and can easily be hurt by small children.

message me if you need more detail or a clearer answer
Reply:Any dog would be good but 1st you and your wife to be need to research your options, like talk to a vet or get with a SPCA or research the internet on dog breeds. Be mindful though... both of you work very long hours and take in consideration the time it would take both of you to get home after work.

Also, you would need the space if you took in a large dog but if you got a small dog you could kennel them in the house while at work the only thing is letting them out once you got home.

I have 1 sister who kennels her dog while at work and another who has a dog that wont go anywhere except the garage ( thats the dog doing .. go figure). If the dog is trained appropriately you should have no problem with where you keep them but beware THEY GET BORED. so thing get chewed up. plenty of toyes and food and water where ever you place them until you come home to your 1st little one until you start have your family.

Good luck

Why is my naturally light blonde hair medium brown at the roots?

I have such wierd hair! The roots are medium brown halfway down to my ears, and the rest is all a light blonde. This is how it is naturally. What should I do? Leave it, dye it all brown, retouch the roots blonde, or add brown lowlights?

Why is my naturally light blonde hair medium brown at the roots?
the sun bleaches my hair like that i would leave it , people pay money to have there hair look like ours
Reply:Look at your styling products. Do you use many? Blonde hair has little pigment, and sometimes the products you use can actually make it appear darker. Try products made for blondes, especially a shampoo. The John Freida line is very good for this, check it out. : )

The first time you use your blonding shampoo, wash your hair a few times before you get out of the shower. Like, flip it over and make sure you really get all the oils and product out of your roots.

And like some other people have said, the sun really helps, just make sure you use sun screen! ; ) Your roots are always going to be a bit darker than the rest of your hair, but, being a blonde myself, I know that sometimes you feel a bit two toned. O.o Take a mid-day walk every once in a while, and it'll really make your hair wake up!

Good luck!
Reply:The different shades are from the sun

that if you want, or dye it a different color

looks.

Be proud that you have those different shades

because some woman have to pay for our

hair to look like that.
Reply:it because the sun will actually bleach your hair .. the hair on the ends has had more sun since it has been there longer.

i say leave it alone or you will have yucky roots instead of a gradual change in color
Reply:when you are out in the sun it is possible that the hair gets colored at the route and the route is more lively and it gts color easier
Reply:It is lightened by sunlight. It comes out darker but lightens as the sun is exposed to it.
Reply:umm your hair color changed. dye it brown, since your no longer blonde.
Reply:Because that's the way god made you.

you can no more change the size of your penis than you can the size of your feet.

If your penis gets hard when you want it to and pretty much stays hard as long as you require it to be hard, be very thankful for that!!!!!
Reply:don't you know that it really isn't the size that counts? women are pleasured more by how it is used than how big it is. I'll give you an example. I had a boyfriend who was hung like a horse and I felt like he stretched me open so wide that I could barely feel him. my boyfriend now is not quite so big and we have an excellent sex life. don't worry about size, worry about how you use it.

Reply:The first poster here is wrong. Average penis size for men is nowhere near 8 inches long -- it's actually 5 1/2 inches long. Anything under 4 inches would be considered small and anything 8 inches long or longer would be considered large. Oh, FYI -- can't tell you how many places I've read that most women DO NOT like guys with large penises because it makes sex painful, not to mention the fact that it makes oral sex next to impossible. So don't worry if you're not hung like a porn star -- 99 out of 100 girls you meet won't care.

Is it more cost effecient to put medium grade fuel or regular in an SUV?

I have a 4door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and have recently been putting medium grade fuel in it because I heard it is better for the car and lasts longer (which is a lease so I don't even own it). Is this true or is regular fuel fine?

Is it more cost effecient to put medium grade fuel or regular in an SUV?
Use 87 octane regular

The octane rating of gasoline tells you how much the fuel can be compressed before it spontaneously ignites. When gas ignites by compression rather than because of the spark from the spark plug, it causes knocking in the engine. Knocking can damage an engine, so it is not something you want to have happening. Lower-octane gas (like "regular" 87-octane gasoline) can handle the least amount of compression before igniting.

The compression ratio of your engine determines the octane rating of the gas you must use in the car. One way to increase the horsepower of an engine of a given displacement is to increase its compression ratio. So a "high-performance engine" has a higher compression ratio and requires higher-octane fuel. The advantage of a high compression ratio is that it gives your engine a higher horsepower rating for a given engine weight -- that is what makes the engine "high performance." The disadvantage is that the gasoline for your engine costs more.

You most likely do not have a high compression engine so you do not require high octane premium fuel. All you are doing is giving the big oil companies even more money. I think that they already make enough money now.

See link below for mor information.
Reply:All engine produced by manufacturers will state in their warranty the "acceptable" grade of fuel. Most times it's 86 octane minimum (which as far as I know is the lowest grade you can get these days). Depending on driving habits and conditions, you might see an increase in economy using a higher grade of fuel. It depends on the computer controlling the engine. If a computer detects preignition (spark knock), it retards timing to keep the engine from breaking parts. The result of that is lower fuel economy. Higher octane fuel is less prone to pre-ignite, which would cause the engine to not retard timing AS MUCH. The only way to know for sure in the real world is test it.

Run the tank to almost empty. Fill with the highest octane you can find. Mark you mileage. Drive until almost empty again. Mark your mileage. Fill with lowest grade of fuel. Drive to almost empty again. Compare results. Not perfect, but if you only see a 1 or 2 mpg increase with higher octane, it's probably most cost effective to use the lower grade fuel.

What is a good, small to medium sized dog, that has short & smooth hair?

I am looking for a new puppy in Sydney, and want something that is small to medium sized, that does not have a lot of hair. Also needs to get along with other dogs. Does anyone know anyone with something suitable?

What is a good, small to medium sized dog, that has short %26amp; smooth hair?
If you are looking for short hair so it doesn't shed then then definetly a terrier or a pug. I have a shih tzu who has long hair but does not shed at all. She is the sweetest thing loves to kiss and cuddle and loves other people without yapping all the time.
Reply:mini doberman pinscher..they are sooo loveable

nice built short hair good 4 less grooming...yeap yeap

Reply:I like my pug. Small, smooth haired and devoted. But he does shed a lot. And as for getting along with other dogs, he seems to be more afraid of them. When he does adjust to them, he plays just fine with them.
Reply:a Maltese Terrier, they have white hair that you can grow to any length depending on what you prefer and a beautifil curled tail which their heair just hangs off. They're perfect lap dogs and inside pets. I have one who is 10 years old right now and everybody loves her. but a down side to Matesers is they may have teeth problems.
Reply:A Whippet. They are loyal and will have only one master or mistress. A female Whippet will protect you even if she is in danger. Mine was 13 years when she died and she was my dog only. Would tolerate other people but look at me always for directions/instructions. She once took on an Alsatian because he had her ball in the park. The Alsatian let go of her but she came back and had another go. I was in the middle but in no danger with my dog there. Good luck.

Reply:I think you need to realize every breed of dog has there own individual problem. Yorkies are hard to housebreak. Beagles howl and are a hound dog so they smell like a hound dog. Dachshunds frequently have back problems. I think a Poodle, who doesn't shed and is one of the smartest dogs would be a good choice. I also like West Highland Terriers, "Westies". Very good natured. Bichon Frise is a great dog with a good personality but needs to be groomed regularly as does a poodle. Go to the library and look up different breeds, each have there own distinctive trates. See what kind of dog will fit in your family. Of course, there is always your local animal rescue league or shelter with many dogs needing homes. Sometimes these 57 Heinz variety dogs are the best of all. Good Luck with your search.

What color should I paint the bedroom with a blue and brown comforter. THe carpet is medium gray?
As there's blue and brown already, why mix in more colors? That would be risky unless you are a pro at this.

So pick colours and shades from the comforter, according to taste. Pale blues are best if the room lacks natural light. If there's lots of light, try darker, brighter shades.

Don't worry about the gray; anything will go with a neutral color.
Reply:chocolate brown
Reply:i would say mix white paint with your own blue tint e.g. phalo blue which you can buy at a paint store. it's less than $3 for a tube and doing this makes sure your paint stays mostly white with the right amount of blue (or whatever tint you choose) that you want and not a drop more
Reply:If you wanna go bold, I'd suggest a dark red, like "Stolen Kiss" by Sherwin Williams. If that's too much color, then check out "Mannered Gold." It's a nice earth tone that will harmonize with everything, and will make the room very welcoming %26amp; relaxing.

Get it bleached by a professional.
Reply:i read that you could bleach it a little first then dye it medium blonde.
Reply:often drugstore color is not strong enough to lighten brown hair to a neutral blond, especially if you have previously colored your hair. also the tone of blond you are choosing makes a big difference. you would want to choose a cool shade like ash because it will help to neutralize the warm tones in your hair.
Reply:By using color that has a blue or blue/green tone in it this will reduce that problem and go just two to three shades lighter then your brown hair is .
Reply:go get it done.

Any suggestions on a good medium size dogs? Must be good with other small dogs?
you should have a look at all small puppies available for adoption. Then watch how they play together. The one who tries to rip the other puppies face off will not be a good "other" dog in your family. Those ones need to be the only dog in household. I look for the ones who are cuddly, give kisses, not trying to bite as much as that other one lol. This is usually a good indication of what they will be like as an adult. Not really sure what type of small breed dogs you have so its hard to pin anything down for you. Not sure but I think that Jack Russels are very energetic, playful, active dogs, not a good choice for lay back dog breeds or sr dogs. A playful puppy is good, but how playful will tell you if your dogs will be able to handle it. Just a suggestion to give you some ideas. Have you thought of checking at the SPCA or dog rescues in your area ? You'ld be saving their life at SPCA + these ones are special to you because you saved its life.

Where can i get a medium size tattoo that can be seen year round?

Most people have tattoos where people can only see them in the spring or summer time since its the season for less clothing. I want to get a medium size butterfly that can be seen year round. Any ideas. Thank you in advance.

Where can i get a medium size tattoo that can be seen year round?
I would say the back of ur neck or ur wrist. Both can be seen in all seasons if you want, but also, if you do decide to cover it up for some occasion or something like that, both areas are easy to cover also. Either with a braclet or something (or sleeves) or by wearing ur hair down (or scarf). I think that would be ur best bet.

Reply:I would say your finger, any finger even your thumb. you could get a butterfly wrapping round your thumb toward your wrist even extending upwards to where you feel it should end.....
Reply:Get it on your chest ..that way you can still cover it if you want..!!
Reply:On your wrist is a good place or maybe back of your neck, but that can be covered if you want it to but yea, hope it helps..
Reply:You can try:

Inner wrist

Lower arm

Side of neck

That's about it for all year long, I hate to say. :o(
Reply:I would have to say arm.
Reply:neck
Reply:Your Neck, During the winter your WHOLE body is covered up even your arms so your neck is the only place

Reply:DON'T DO IT!!! SERIOUSLY,,, THINK ABOUT HOW IT WILL LOOK WHEN YOU'RE OLDER!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! :0
Reply:Face.

No, I'm kidding. I don't think that's what you had in mind. Arm is probably the best place. It can be visible all year but it's also easy to hide. Other choices could be: Neck, ankle/foot depending on what type of shoes you wear, hands.

How can I mix paint medium with fabric paint?

My mom works at a day-care and wants to put childrens' footprints onto pieces of carpet fabric as a christmas gift. What is a safe percentage of medium to fabric paint that will be safe for the kids' feet but be permanent on the fabric?

How can I mix paint medium with fabric paint?
Ask at your craft store, there should be some medium that is non toxic and fabric paints that are non toxic. The best and safest way to go.
Reply:First, if you buy "fabric paint" it will already have the acrylic "textile medium" in it.

If you buy plain acrylic paint though, you can add "textile medium" to it yourself (so that the paint will be more flexible and not crack in the wash if it's thick) ...otherwise you don't need the textile medium mixed into the acrylic paint to print permanently on fabric.

(You can buy craft acrylic paint and textile medium at a crafts store.)

Acrylic paint, and acrylic mediums like textile medium, are "safe" so any amount should be okay from that angle. And they're both permanent once they're dry. (Be sure to wash off little feet with water or soap and water before it dries!)

I don't know how much textile medium you'd want to add to craft-type acrylic paint to get the amount of softness and flexibility *you* want, or how thick you plan on having the paint from the footprints (or what exactly "carpet fabric" is), but I'd guess there would be some suggestions for ratios on bottles of textile medium for printing on most fabrics... or try some of these sites for ideas:

What would be a good medium-format camera to start with?

I have always loved photography and now I would like to start using a medium format camera, but I am not sure as to where to start. Can someone give me ideas about cameras and their costs. Thank you.

What would be a good medium-format camera to start with?
MAMIYA RB67, I DO WORK WITH IT, IT IS A WONDER.
Reply:To get a medium format camera, you don't go to Ritz. They don't carry any - they have given way to digital, carrying only a minumum number of film cameras and no medium format.

To start, I would either go with a Pentax 645 or 67 or to Mamiay 645, RB67, or RG67. There are others, Fuji makes a few.

To ensure that you get one that works, I don't recommend ebay. I would call www.keh.com and talk to Arthur if you can get him on the line. You will need a few lenses. For the 645, a standard lens of 80mm y ou will need and then you will need a wide angle, which might be between 50mm and 60mm, then for a portrait lens, you can get a 180mm. For 6x7, you will need a 90 for a standard lens, a 50 for a wide angle, and a 180 for portraits.

I like the Mamiyas 67s. They have a back that turns, so therefore you don't need to turn your camera vertically for a picture. film backs come in 120 and 220 film sizes, the 120 has ten shots, the 220 has 20. Then Pentax cameras are more designed like the normal 35mm, only larger, and I think bulkier. I don't know about the new RGs, but the older ones are heavy so if you go trapsing off to take scenic shots in the mountain, you will need both a tripod and a backpack to carry your gear. Mamiya makes other medium format, as a matter of fact, no 35mms, that are very versatile, so you have to shop around for what you want - what you can carry, and the ease of operation. The RBs have no electronics in them, no light meter, so you have to get a handheld light meter and set your own shutter speed, f stops and ++//cock/++ manually - two actually - you have to do the back and the camera. These are not point and shoots.

There are an abundance of 6x6, or square format cameras that are excellent also. The Mamiya 330s are fantastic, but a little old and very manual also.

Other manufacturers like Bronica, Hasselblad, and still others have the cameras that fit into your desired category, so I suggest that you get what you can for the money - they can all get expensive.
Reply:Go to Ritz Camera
Reply:Heya,

All the advice they gave you was great but here is another option for you.

I don't know what intentions you have for a final outcome so that would help, like is it just for artistic use, weddings, commercial or whatever. If it is purely artsy may I suggest this as a fun, very cheap way of entering the medium format world, having those nice big negs that will create great results. There is a camera, (once called the Diana) but now the Holga. They can be found online just about everywhere including Ebay and some local camera shops carry them. For all of 20 bucks you get this cool little 120 camera. Yes, it's all plastic, including the lens, it comes with a strap and now even a hotshoe for a strobe. I have about 10 of them and everyone of them creates different images but when some pracgtice at exposure you may be surprised to see your results. (PLEASE, don't buy one and go shoot a wedding with it unless that gritty artsy style is the desired effect). Anyways, some of mine were so sharp that I took some sandpaper and scratched the lenses up a bit to get what I was looking for. Practice with it, shoot some film through it and get to know it and you may like it. Look for it on yahoo search and you will find many sites dedicated to Holga lovers and some of the incredible work they have made.
Reply:If you can find one, a yashika mat 124G is an inexpensive way to break into the medium formats. The size is 6X6. Whatever you go to, remember that it is going to be used (new is way too expensive) so be careful.

The mamiya line up are all very good, and middle priced.

Is the best way to eat a steak medium to rare?

I always get my steaks medium to well-done. I hear that's a cardinal sin, and that they should always be medium to rare? Insight please?

Is the best way to eat a steak medium to rare?
I always get my steak medium rare. To me a well done steak is to dry.:)
Reply:I worked as a broiler cook at a steak house and med rare to medium are the most popular ways people eat steaks. I guess you get the most flavor, but I'm not sure I eat mine mid well. Hope this helped
Reply:Depends on the cut. Well done definitely takes away any tenderness of the steak. You can also order chicago style with a charred surface but rare center.
Reply:Not everyone can eat a rare or medium rare steak. And yes, a lot of people say that's the best way to eat them for them to have the best flavor. I believe it's to each person's own taste.

I use to eat my steaks med. rare. Now I have them medium and I actually like them much better. I will say that I don't understand why people ask for their steaks to be cooked well or extra well. I know I said it's "to their taste" but do those steaks have any taste left?

Why does sound need a medium for transmission whereas the electromagnetic waves doesnt ?

Why does sound require a medium for transmission or propagation. But this is not the case with electromagnetic waves. Why?

Why does sound need a medium for transmission whereas the electromagnetic waves doesnt ?
Think of electromagnetic waves as two fields of force, one magnetic and at right angles to this an electric force field. These two fields are created and moving away from their source. They are complete in themselves and do not need to reach a target by influencing anything inbetween the source and target.

The ear responds to pressure waves in the the air. When the air changes from a force the ear detects it as sound. When you clap you affect the air molecules between your hands. These bump into the air molecules all around them and the enrgy is transferred down the line, molecule to molecule to your ear.

By nature sound is force transmitted through a medium to a detector that picks up the change in the medium. EM waves are fields that do not affect the medium but travel through and indpendent of it.
Reply:Sound waves require a medium to travel, because a sound wave is merely a compression that's transmitted through a medium such as air, water, or solid objects like a steel rod.

If you've ever seen a newton's cradle, sound waves are transmitted in much the same way. The compression wave is transmitted by a molecule being thrust forward until it transmits it's momentum into another molecule and so on. That's why there's no sound in a vacuum, there's not enough molecules to transmit the compression of the sound wave, and why the denser an object the faster sound will travel through it.

EM waves are unique and almost magical in a way. They don't need a medium to be transmitted, in fact they move at light speed and are self propogating.

The electrical half generates a magnetic half of a wave, then the magnetic half generates the other electrical half of the electrical wave, which generates the other half of the magnetic wave, and the cycle repeats from there. So with that method EM waves don't require a medium for transmission.

I hope this helps you out.
Reply:This is technically true. Sound requires a medium of transmission to exhibit energy waves. Sound is not energy therefore it needs a medium to be transfered.

Electromagnetic waves require 'Free Space' to propogate energy.

Because 'free space' is always in existence its assumed that electromagnetic waves do not require any other medium to be transferred.

What is considered a medium sized suitcase?

I'm going on a school trip, and the papers they gave us said we are allowed only 1 medium suitcase. My question is; what is considered medium? My suit case is:

H=23 inches

W= 9 inches

L= 18 inches

Is that medium, or is it too large?

I'm packing now, so I need an answer soon!

What is considered a medium sized suitcase?
19-22" is a carry on. 23-26" is medium and 27-30" is really large. Your's sounds just right.

Decent makeup brands

Why do we use different medium blanks in spectrophotometry?

It's on my lab and I really have no idea. It's not in our packet or anything. I know we use a blank to get it to zero, but I don't know why we need different medium blanks.

Why do we use different medium blanks in spectrophotometry?
your zeroing out the meter so you can take an accurate reading..

say medium 1 is water = it will show up an absorbance on your meter so you use the pure water to zero the machine out so your only reading your sample(water+bacteria for example)

its like your zeroing your scales with a beaker on it... so you can now add things to the beaker and measure it again... and what you will measure is just the substance IN the beaker ... since the weight of the beaker has be removed by zeroing it out in the first place

What is the easiest medium to grow microbes in?

ive got a bio project that requires me to culture micobes from my surroundings.what medium would be ideal?preferably something i can find around home,or is easily available.ive heard agar plates are good.how can i prepare them?

What is the easiest medium to grow microbes in?
Make'em yourself agar plates:

Get some flavourless/colourless jello and chichen soup, prepare the chichen soup as indicated but with enough water to make a bowl full of jello, then prepare the flavourless/colourless jello as indicated in the box. That ought to do it. In microbiology labs we call it nutrient agar, but we use molecular grade agar. You decide how solid you want your chicken jello by how much water you add, so if you don't want to have to put it in the fridge to keep it solid, use half as much water as the jello recipe asks for. That ought to keep the jello solid, even at room temp.

What kind of oil medium should i use to make the texture of my paint thick?

Is there a oil medium for this?

What kind of oil medium should i use to make the texture of my paint thick?
Well, most mediums are meant to thin paint that is too thick. I would suggest you put the paints out on your palette and let them sit over night or longer. That will thicken them. Or, try other brands of paint. Some brands are very dry and thick right out of the tube.
Reply:Talens modeling paste is supposed to work for oils as well. Look it up in Dick Blick.

What is the most economical way to access repair information for medium and heavy duty trucks?

I own a small delivery fleet of 5 medium duty trucks. 3 are Peterbilts, 1 is a Freightliner, and one is a Kenworth. Can anyone tell me what the best method is to find repair information on the trucks and their engines? I would like to do my repairs in-house if I can as opposed to outsourcing everything as I have had to do in the past.

Library has book and on-line
Reply:Chilton's repair manuals, not cheap, but a lot cheaper than one mechanic's visit.
