Small to Medium sized dog that would be great for inside?

I'm trying to decide what type of dog that I want. I don't want a big dog, I want a dog that is small-medium and is good inside and is a real alert dog to every unusual sound around the house. Help with any ideas and please give me the name of the type of dog. Thanks

Small to Medium sized dog that would be great for inside?
I have a Pomeranian and works fine in my home I have a single bedroom, also you can consider Yorkshire, or maybe Mini Pincher.

Good luck.
Reply:Boston Terrier. They actually do better if most time is spent indoors in extreme weather. Mine is very curious and is starting to develop in to her protection mode. She barks very softly, more like a huff at weird noises or people that she doesn't recognize. She is never yappy. Clean and shed minimal. Funny, playful, and very friendly. Thats my two cents.
Reply:i didnt read all that crap you wrote, (no offence) but a chuawawa or mini pincher would be good
Reply:I would sugggest a chiwahua because they are small and alert. I would also think a maltese would be nice. They are calm and medium sized. Shitzues are less active, but small and lovable. I hope I helped! Enjoy your new pet!
Reply:pmeranian, cuzz they are very cute and playful and love to see u all the time they are spart very elegant. when i go to the park peple always want to pet him and they are adorable
Reply:Basset hound!
Reply:A boxer is perfect. big enough for intimidation.
Reply:a medium siz basset, we have one that is 38 pounds they do get up to 60 pounds tho, thye have the second best nose in the dog family ( bloodhounds being #1) and theya re very fun and can be very easy going, ours are a lot of fun, i have owned several bassets
Reply:Mini Schnauzer Or Mini poodle
Reply:a bichon frise ( i am not sure of the spelling) may be what you are looking for - good luck
Reply:I would suggest a chihuahua first, since they are sometimes hyper and will probably be alert to unusual noises. Also shih-tzus are great inside dogs, or daschounds.
Reply:The Jack Russel Terrier is the best small dog to have. They are incredibly smart, loyal, great with kids and easy to maintain. They are not as hyper and "squeaky" like a sissy chihuahua, and they are easier to maintain than a pom of bichon (dogs that shed A LOT). Jack Russels. Fun, fit, and friendly.
Reply:GEt a cocker spaniel because the smaler the stupider....

we have 1 for sale email me at natasha_cocker@yahoo.com ill send you pics and info
Reply:I would suggest a bichon frize. We have 2 in our family and are quite suited for the indoors.
Reply:I have had mainly small dogs and the two best small house pets are miniature schnauzers and poodles; have you considered going to a shelter or humane society to look for a little friend?
Reply:Schnauzer

Coocker Spaniel

French Poodle

Dash Hound

Answer a few questions and they will suggest a breed that is right for your lifestyle.
Reply:Perhaps a beagle or a cocker spaniel? A shiba inu? They are all quite different temperaments though.
Reply:there are tons of great dogs, but if you are leaving them inside a lot they have a tiny bladder a.k.a. they pee all the time!!
Reply:miniature schnauzer!
Reply:A poodle would be wonderful for the kind of lifestyle you described.
Reply:Here are a few suggestions::

Bassett Hounds

Bichon Frise - don't shed, hypoallergenic.

Pug

Boston Terrier

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - adorable!

Good luck!
Reply:French Bulldog. The make good watchdogs, but they are not yappy. The can only be inside due to their anatomy, but they are great little dogs. They average 20-25lbs, but they are very dense stocky dogs.
Reply:Golden Retreiver, great with everyone, kids adults, that might be the downfall though, they may be happy to see the burglar at your door lol. they aint a huge monster of a dog either.
