There is a previously posted question: "Can u explain why supernova explosions in space can b seen but not heard on earth.?" and the answer is simple: there is no medium between Earth and the sound source.
But recent studies suggest the existance of "Dark Matter" that fills our unvierse. Then it should act as a medium for sound propagation. Still we don't hear anything from space. Why?
Why doesn't Dark Matter act as a medium for sound propagation?
It's true that dark matter is believed to be through out our universe but it's very thin and scarce... think of veins... or branches on a tree... that's how it fills the universe... Not only that but dark matter does not react to vibration the same way regular matter does...
Reply:If dark matter did exist, and they are not certain it does, it would have to form a continuous wall in order to transmit sound. Only one or two super nova have ever been observed from Earth, if we close enough to hear it through medium we would destroyed by the shock wave.
Reply:Dark matter isn't everywhere, and it would have to be in order to propagate sound; and I mean EVERYWHERE. Most of space is just that; space.
