You should use a water base sealer.

Go to dickblicks,Loomes and tooles or even at Wallmart and purchase a water base sealer.

I would apply it by hand with a good brush used for applying lacquers and stains at Home Depot.

hope this helped,

Cheers!
Reply:The real deal is called 'shellac'. It's what was originally used to seal instruments like violins etc. and is made from the shells of beetles. It's available at most hardware stores in flake form and is not difficult to mix up and use. It also gives the most beautiful golden soft shiny finish and is very hard when dried. Much more appealing and authentic than any epoxy resin sort of thing. Hope this helps.
Reply:Spary varnish
Reply:Hopefully you didn't do this to an acoustic guitar...

If you want a finish thick enough to "hide" the edges, you'll need to use a clear epoxy... the same stuff they use to lay up fiberglas. It is expensive, about $50 a quart and is a giant hassle to work with. I think that Woodcraft Supply still sells it, but you can do a search and find out.

If you just want to protect the images without regard for the smoothness, use the same stuff you used to decoupage it in the first place.
