Ceiling is 96" high with medium size round light fixture in center. Bedroom has 2 smaller walls and they both meet at doorway, then 4 large ones. One of the large walls has 2 very large windows. I have 2 1/2 gallons of "Montego Bay" http://www.materials-world.com/paint-col...
And I have 1 1/2 gallons of "Hypnotic Sea"

Both colors are at bottom right on charts. How should I use these 2 colors in this bedroom to get a bigger feel? Should I do all walls Montego and ceiling Hypnotic or? Any advice is always appreciated.

Stick with neutral colors but don't choose white, it is boring. Don't choose a color that is too dark or it will make the room look smaller then either go with a border or even better paint down about 8 inches from the ceiling down the wall in a contrasting color and then put up a nice piece of pine or oak trim around the ceiling and the bottom of your paint line. good luck!

Reply:These colors are too dark to make the room feel bigger. If you're making your decisions based on the 4 gallons of paint you have on hand, I'd suggest you save some money first and then pick colors from scratch. I think the colors go together well, however. I'd do a small wall in Hypnotic Sea and the large wall opposite the windows in Montego Bay, and the rest of the room in a cool white. This would look good, but I don't think it would optimize the feeling of space. A crown molding in Hypnotic Sea would be stunning, but again it wouldn't make the room look bigger.
Reply:Light, but bright, Blue as prominent colour
Light Lime as accent colour
A little touch of jade or orange may also be added
Reply:I would leave the ceiling white, paint trim and doors white.
How do the two colors look against each other? The Hypnotic Sea looks much darker and greener than the Montego Bay. I'm not sure they would play off each other well. It's hard to tell on my computer monitor.
I think I would paint all of the room with Montego Bay, or if the Hypnotic Sea goes well with the Montego Bay, I would paint one accent wall maybe behind the bed) with the Hypnotic Sea. Or you might have a chair rail going around the room in white, and paint below it with the Hypnotic Sea, and above it to the ceiling with Montego Bay.
I would not paint much of the room in Hypnotic Sea because it is pretty dark and would make the room look smaller.
BTW, I really like both colors.
Reply:you have many options.
1) paint the wall behind your bed Hypnotic and the rest of the walls Montego
2) Use the suggestion above, and add 2' wide stripes (vertical for taller, horizontal for wider) in Hypnotic on the 4 large walls in the room.
3) I would paint the ceiling Montego, or get a quart of something a couple of shades lighter, like Pale Seafoam or Seaspray.
