I've read and heard that it's dangerous to cook with olive oil on medium-high heat. Is this true?

I've read also that it releases toxic radicals, which is why it's smells funky when it's heated in a pan like that.

I'm planning to make a hummus later, which requires me to heat up olive oil.

Is this stuff true about olive oil, though? Please help. Thanks!

Olive oil helps to slow the cooking process and is very stable at high temperatures, making it an excellent choice for many different types of cooking methods. When used for cooking, olive oil brings out the true flavors of food and it retains all of its nutritional benefits, even when cooking with high heat.

Cooking with high heat does not change the basic properties of olive oil, but it causes olive oil to lose some of its flavor.
