What coffee (mild, medium, bold,or extra bold) has the most caffeine?

My brother who works at Starbucks said that medium(or mild) has more caffiene. This is hard to believe. I am 100% sure that when I drink a Bold or Extra Bold that I get more of a caffeine buzz and I feel more energy.

Is it all in my head then? Mild coffee is like drinking tea to me.

What coffee (mild, medium, bold,or extra bold) has the most caffeine?
Your brother is right. What makes a bold coffee flavor is an increase in the roasting time of the raw coffee bean, reducing not only the amount of caffeine in the bean but also the flavinoids and some other healthful side products.
Reply:Your brother is right. Mild-medium coffees aren't roasted as long so the caffeine content is higher. That's why coffees like Breakfast Blend are mild and coffees like Italian and French Roast are considered dinner coffees. People want the higher caffeine content coffees in the am!
Reply:The amount of caffine has nothing to do with how they are roasted. If you want more caffine in your coffee you need to ask and have them make it strong (making it with more grounds) or by asking them to add a shot of espresso to it (often called a Red-eye).
Reply:the longer the roast time (like dark roasts), the least caffeine the coffee will contain.

Therefore, mild roasts have the most caffeine content
Reply:Caffeine Content

All figures are approximate, especially with coffee. Different varietals can have different caffeine content, and the way the coffee is roasted can also change the values.

Double espresso (2oz) 45-100 mg (*Notice only 2 oz)

Brewed coffee (8 oz) 60-120 mg

Instant coffee (8 oz) 70 mg

Decaf coffee (8 oz) 1-5 mg
Reply:i got a heck of a buzz on dark roast and i almost passed out from the jitters... but im not that much of a dark coffee person i drink regular....
