How to get pale blonde from medium brown?

I currently get my hair done at the salon but want to do it myself. I'm naturally medium brown and have jessica simpsonish blonde hair right now. What level bleach/activator, etc. should I combine to do this myself and how. Is there anything that is safe to put on scalp so I don't have to do foils? Sally's? Thanks for your help!

use a pre lightener..they r about six quid and then put th colour u like over the top but not an ash clour or it wil luk greyish, i did this n got my hair from dark brown to light blonde, i use loreal pre lightener u leave it on for 45 mins n then wash n dry ur hair n then i use nice n easy in medium blonde shade n put tht on for only ten mins(supposed to b 30) but it wil just take th yellowish tone out of ur hair from th pre lightener n it luks realy nce! hav a luk at my pic on ma 360 profile n u wil c th colour my hair has gon :)
Reply:I have medium brown hair and get a lighter golden blonde (without the use of harsh bleach and amonia) by using Revlon's Ultra Light Natural Blonde hair color. You can put it right on your scalp and another plus is that it only costs like $3 a box! I have tried other products and don't get nearly as good of results with anything else.
Reply:Your lucky, your going from blond to blond. Get your basic powder and I recomend a cream activator level 3 or 4 , cream should help with the damage. I wouldn't use foil and keep cheacking the color. I do this all the time. Good luck !
